The gorge is about 2.5 billion years-old and the rugged landscape has seen several ice ages. Walking along an easily accessible path though the gorge to Pyh\u00e4nkasteenputous \u201csacred\u201d Waterfall is a must when visiting Pyh\u00e4-Luosto National Park. The walkway is also suitable for wheelchairs.Stories about Lapland accompany us through the experience providing an interesting insight to the local ways of life, foraging berries and mushrooms, and the geological history of the area.Starting time is flexible and in summer the experience can take place during evening time thanks to the midnight sun.
