Description
Experience the magic of polar night and toboggan down the longest toboggan slope in Finland! The activity starts with a chair lift ride to the top of fell Kaunispää, from where Saariselkä’s city lights open in front of your eyes as a sea of sparkling lights. The toboggan slope is illuminated with light art, just follow the aurora lights that guide you back down to the valley.

The Aurora Experience light art illumination can be best experienced during polar night season in December and January, when it is dark also during daytime. After days become longer after mid January, the aurora lights are only on during night skiing days.
The price of Aurora Tobogganing ticket includes proper toboggans suitable for our 1800m toboggan run, a helmet and a 2h ticket for the chairlift to go back up you can get several runs in.

Please note
- Minimum age of passenger is: 7
- Snowcats and maintenance vehicles are operating in the slope after opening hours. Tobogganing outside the opening hours is strongly prohibited due to safety reasons. It is very difficult for the snowcat driver to see skiers or persons tobogganing in the dark due to a “cloud” of snow around the machine. Impacts of a collision between a person and a snowcat or another maintenance vehicle can be fatal.

Essentials to pack for an activity
Participants are expected to have warm winter clothing and gloves, snow wear (overalls, jackets and pants) are available for rent and beanies, gloves and balaclavas are for sale at our Ski Shop for an extra fee.
It's also recommended to wear goggles in order to get the best possible tobogganing experience as possible. Goggles can be bought from the Ski Shop, unfortunately we don't rent them at the moment.
