    Description

    This safari gives us all necessary skills needed to drive a snowmobile in a guided group. Perfect for people who want to try out driving with a snowmobile for the first time! Before we start our guide gives us a full safety briefing and introductions for driving. After the short lesson we head out and drive a short route through snowy landscapes. We make stops to take pictures and memorize the moment among the trees. During the safari we will stop for a break with coffee / tea and a sweet bun. After this activity you are ready to join more demanding trips with snowmobiles. 

    The activities are open departures and program will be done if minimum 4 persons is joining.  We will notify you at the latest by 3 p.m. the day before if the program is cancelled.

    • Activities are guided and include all necessary gear and winter outfit. 
    • Adult on shared snowmobile = Two persons sitting on the snowmobile. Another is a driver, another is a passenger. You can swop driver on the way. There needs to be two persons in your party when you choose this rate. Then you won´t share snowmobile with a stranger.
    • One adult on snowmobile ( single driving ) = No passanger. You will drive the snowmobile for the whole duration of the trip. 

    Please note

    • Driving licence is required for driving a snowmobile 
    • Snowmobile driving distance is 20 km
    • Minimum length 140 cm when sitting on snowmobile (feet need to reach firmly until side board)
    • For safety reasons minimum age for this activity is 5 years. For smaller children (3 - 4 years) we recommend to join ice fishing, reindeer farm visit or husky visit.
    • Snowmobile introduction is the only snowmobile activity where children under 140 cm (over 5 - 11 years) travel safely on the sledge with an adult, this adult needs to be from your own party. Sledge is behind the guide´s snowmobile. Please contact to sales@rukasafaris.fi before booking if you have a child with you who will be seated in the sleigh, we will check the situation if there is places available.
