Are you looking for a relaxing paddling holiday without camping in the wild?
During the day you can paddle in Linnansaari National Park and in the wilderness of Joutenvesi. Enjoy the beautiful landscapes, untouched nature, clean Saimaa lakewater and if you are lucky you may spot one of the seals living in the area.
After a great day outdoors it is nice to return to Oravi village and have a sauna bath in the harbor.
Accommodation in Oravi Apartments, studio room with mini kitchen, bathroom and WLAN. Sauna in the evening and breakfast in the morning are also included in the package. Paddling with Canadian canoe. Paddling instructions and route planning are given in the reception.
The package is for 2 nights for 2 persons and includes: Accommodation in double room, breakfast in restaurant Ruukinranta or breakfast baskets delivered to your room, canoe + (paddles, life jackets, dry bags and waterproof map), private sauna by Oravi canal for 1 hour.

Extra: paddling with double kayak instead of canoe +15€/ person or with single kayaks +42€/ person

- Paddling guide: 50€/ hour. Trained paddling guide gives you the basic technique training and safety drills on land and on the water. Select multiple pcs for multiple hours!

Itinerary
Oravi village lies literally in the heart of Saimaa, the largest lake district in Europe. The idyllic village Oravi is located in between the National Parks Linnansaari and Kolovesi.
Oravi is offering variety of guided nature activities, the largest canoeing center in Saimaa and accommodation.
Accommodation in the Ecological apartments in the centre of the village
Our comfortable apartment hotel is situated in Oravi village, close to the restaurant, guest harbor and the outdoor center. The hotel was built in 2008 and it has 4 apartments and 13 studios. The apartments have separate bed rooms and are suitable for 2-4 persons. The studios have 2 beds + sofa bed and are suitable for 1-3 persons.
Every room has a private entrance, WC, shower, hair dryer, kitchenette (hot plate, kettle, coffee maker, micro wave oven, refrigerator, sink, pots and pans), TV and drying cabinet. Pet rooms are located on the first floor. Ecological values are important for us and the hotel is heated with geothermal heating.
Itinerary
The holiday package includes canoeing gear that can be collected from the paddling center. Double canoe with paddles, life jackets, dry bags and a waterproof paddling map.
We welcome you to begin your unforgettable paddling adventure in Oravi. Our village is situated in the middle of the archipelago of lake Saimaa. Linnansaari and Kolovesi National Parks as well as the magnificent archipelago of Joutenvesi is like paradise for canoeists. Great expanses of open water and straits between hundreds of islands, seals, more than 30 marked camping places, clean and safe water.
For day tours we recommend to visit the Linnansaari main island. The main camp gound is ca. 5,5km from Oravi. A tour around the Linnansaari main island is 18km. There are also nice routres north of Oravi in Joutenvesi lake. The staff in the canoeing center is happy the help you with route planning.

Excluded
Pick up is not included. You can book a pick up from Savonlinna city from the sales service, price 17€.
LUNCH and DINNER are not included. There is a village shop for groceries in Oravi village ca. 150m from the hotel.
Please note
The National Park has hundreds of islands and the route can be modified to meet your skill level. It is good to know how to read the map so you can navigate in the national park. The staff in the canoe center is happy to help you with the right route. In autumn the weather can be cold and we recommend this holiday only if you have previous paddling experience.
Essentials to pack for an activity
Please take extra clothes also for the paddling days since paddling can be wet. Rain gear and warm overall are good as well. Small shoes like sneekers for paddling, hat and sun screen for sunny days.
Take always a water bottle, snack, extra clothes and phone (in waterproof bag) with you when you go paddling. *Paddling map is always included the gear rental.
