    Description

    Not in the mood for skiing today? No problem! Tobogganing on the light art illuminated 1.8 km toboggan track is a must for everyone!

    Experience the magic of polar night and toboggan down the longest toboggan slope in Finland! In the guided version of Aurora Tobogganing package, you will have one guided run with our instructor to have a safe start for your tobogganing experience. The activity starts with a chair lift ride to the top of fell Kaunispää, from where Saariselkä’s city lights open in front of your eyes as a sea of sparkling lights. The toboggan slope is now illuminated with light art, just follow the aurora lights that guide you back down to the valley.

    Aurora Tobogganing is possible only during lift operation hours, please check www.skisaariselka.com. The Aurora Experience light art illumination can be best experienced during polar night season in December and January, when it is dark also during daytime. After days become longer after mid January, the aurora lights are only on during night skiing days.

    Please note

    Minimum age of passenger is 7 years, kids under 13 years have to go in the toboggan with an adult. 

    Wear a suitable clothing and strong, good gloves and winter boots/shoes. Goggles are also strongly recommended.

    Kindly note, this is a group activity and not a private one.

    Breaking and steering the toboggan will happen by using your feet and hands, so please be aware that you can easily get covered by snow and that's why it's recommend to wear proper winter clothes.

    Essentials to pack for an activity

    Participants are expected to have warm winter clothing and gloves, snow wear (overalls, jackets and pants) are available for rent and beanies, gloves and balaclavas are for sale at our Ski Shop for an extra fee.

    It's also recommended to wear goggles in order to get the best possible tobogganing experience as possible. Goggles can be bought from the Ski Shop, unfortunately we don't rent them at the moment.
