Premium Wilderness Skiing in Pyhä-Luosto National Park
Head out to the true Arctic wilderness on Altai skis and let Mother Nature remind you what life is all about.
4 hours
Moderate
Description
Not a snowshoe nor a traditional long back country ski – but a cross-breed with best of the both worlds. A wide, short, agile ski makes it easy to travel across thick snowfields. No previous skiing experience required for enjoying gliding across the puffy snowfields.
The Premium Wilderness Skiing Tour lasts 4 hours and is more thorough experience than the Classic option. The tour can and will be tailored based on the clients' request. Guide will give a knowledgeable presentation about the Arctic nature and the old Lappish beliefs.
PREMIUM WILDERNESS SKIING IS AVAILABLE BOTH IN PYHÄ AND LUOSTO, LAPLAND
Included
Guiding and storytelling, Altai skis and ski poles for the tour, hot berry beverages, the regional favourite, and a light yet nutritious meal by a bonfire, in the forest.
Please note
Wilderness skiing does not require earlier experience in skiing.
From Rovaniemi, the closest airport and Santa Claus’ headquarters, it takes approximately two hours by car or by Skibus to reach us in Pyhä (Hotel Pyhätunturi) or in Luosto (Lapland Hotel Luostotunturi).
Altai ski is a short, easy-to-use forest ski that combines the best features of a snowshoe. With a partial climbing skin integrated into the base, the ski climbs with ease. The skin also makes the ski slower and easier to control than traditional skis. The ski’s short, wide design makes it incredibly maneuverable, ideal for thick woods and variable terrain, a truly all-purpose backcountry tool.
Kindly note that 10% of the price of your tour is non-refundable. The 10% will be used to cover fees connected to your booking such as credit card transactions and other administrative charges. Refunds will only be issued to the card used to purchase the tour.
