Embark on a journey with Saimi and mushroom expert Jarkko Korhonen to explore the mushroom treasures of the Saimaa archipelago.

Due to high demand, cruises will be held up to four times in 2022, so you can choose the best day to take part.

The cruise is suitable for both beginners and more experienced mushroom pickers, as the groups are divided according to the skill level of the participants. Beginners have their own group as well as more experienced mushroom pickers.

Departure from Savonlinna passenger harbor at 9:30, from where the journey begins towards the southern archipelago of Pihlajavesi, where it is also possible to see the Saimaa ringed seal. The ship offers morning coffee and a high-quality mushroom lunch at Restaurant Punkaharju. The trip is directed to the landscapes of Kesamonsaari, Kokonsaari and Laukansaari, where there are many different kinds of mushrooms. During the day you will get to know different species of mushrooms in nature and on board, so about half of the time is spent in the ship and half in nature. 

Your guides are biologist and mushroom writer Jarkko Korhonen and Hotelli Punkaharju's entrepreneur and passionate mushroom fan Saimi Hoyer. Experts teach you about mushrooms and there is time for discussion and questions about mushrooms during transitions between the islands.
