Tenala

The old church parish.
Tenala is a bilingual and former municipality situated in the region of Uusimaa. Tenala is a small town of around 2 500 inhabitants.

From 2009 it was part of the municipality of Raseborg.

The old mediaval church of Tenala was build between 1460 and 1480. The inner walls are decorated full with seals and the painting on the pillars are originally from the 17th century.

History & Architecture

Medieval stone church of Tenhola (from Helsinki 100km) dates until 1400 century. Oldest parts from 1200 century. Inside it is very beautiful with its columns which have ornaments.
