Holiday in Pyhä is full of adventures!
Pyhä is a year-round fell resort for active nature lovers, located in Lapland in the municipality of Pelkosenniemi. Pyhä has good transport connections, both by car and by public transport. The nearest airport is in Rovaniemi, 133 km, and the nearest train station is in Kemijärvi, 58 km away. Plane and train connections, together with daily bus services from Rovaniemi and Kemijärvi, provide easy transfer to Pyhä. Getting around the Pyhä area is easy as all services are within walking distance. During the holiday periods Pyhä Shuttle bus, runs free of charge in the central area of Pyhä.

During winter the slopes are in excellent condition and offers a good slope profile for both beginners and for the more advanced skiers. In addition to the slopes, Pyhä offers the best back-country, the most beautiful gorges and fells. Pyhä has a rich cultural history and the resort has gotten it’s name from many sacred places in the area that were special to the forest Sámi people. All the sacred places are located in the Pyhä-Luosto national park, which is one of the oldest the oldesta national parks in Finland.

In addition to downhill skiing, you can enjoy skiing on the well-groomed slopes. Pyhä has 150 km of cross-country ski trails with the neighbor resort Luosto. A ski trip from one resort to another is the best way to enjoy an outdoor day when the spring sun is shining. Pyhä-Luosto National Park offers great hiking opportunities all year round. In winter you can explore the national park by snowshoeing, winter cycling and skiing. In summer, the trails in the national park are ideal for day trips. The national park can also be explored by bike. Whether the season, the starting point to the national should start at the Visitor Centre Naava, where you will get the best hiking tips and information about the conditions in the park.

Visitor Centre Naava houses a fascinating nature exhibition on the nature and cultural history of Pyhä-Luosto National Park. Get your first taste of the area's deep ravines, high fell tops, and sacred sites of the ancient Forest Sámi people. Hiking information is available at the information point, which also serves as the tourist information point of the area. Visitors can shop at NaavaShop, and enjoy lunch or local bakery products at Café Loimu.

Pyhä ski resort is well known of its excellent and variable slope profile, which is suitable for families and intermediate/expert skiers. The total capacity is 15 slopes and 9 lifts. Freeriding opportunities at Pyhä are incomparable on Finland’s scale. Seven different freeriding areas in close proximity of the fell and the Pyhä Luosto national park offer challenges even for the well experienced rider.
