During winter the slopes are in excellent condition and offers a good slope profile for both beginners and for the more advanced skiers. In addition to the slopes, Pyhä offers the best back-country, the most beautiful gorges and fells. Pyhä has a rich cultural history and the resort has gotten it’s name from many sacred places in the area that were special to the forest Sámi people. All the sacred places are located in the Pyhä-Luosto national park, which is one of the oldest the oldesta national parks in Finland.
In addition to downhill skiing, you can enjoy skiing on the well-groomed slopes. Pyhä has 150 km of cross-country ski trails with the neighbor resort Luosto. A ski trip from one resort to another is the best way to enjoy an outdoor day when the spring sun is shining. Pyhä-Luosto National Park offers great hiking opportunities all year round. In winter you can explore the national park by snowshoeing, winter cycling and skiing. In summer, the trails in the national park are ideal for day trips. The national park can also be explored by bike. Whether the season, the starting point to the national should start at the Visitor Centre Naava, where you will get the best hiking tips and information about the conditions in the park.
