The biggest historical vicarage in Finland, Kenkävero is a delightful attraction that offers a cafe-restaurant, exhibitions throughout the year, a pier for visiting boats, a folk centre, a vicarage garden and also a gardening shop in the summertime. Neitvuori Hill

Neitvuori is one of the highest mountains in South Savo (184 m). The peak is 110 m higher than the Saimaa surface. Neitvuori offers sweeping views of the Luonteri archipelago and forest landscapes. In rocky weather, the rocky mountain has an unobstructed view for tens of kilometers. The landscape alternates with waters, green islands with rocky shores and lush landscapes that eventually blend into the dark blue background.

Enjoy the authentic Finnish manor house milieu, the cafe and shop, fine accommodation and beautiful gardens. The cafe and shop are open daily from 10am to 6pm year round. Lunch is served in the cafe daily from 12am to 4pm. The shop sells Finnish food products and interior decorating items. The manor restaurant is open daily in summertime and during the Christmas season.

Mikkeli Headquarters Museum

History & Architecture

The Headquarters Museum is located in downtown Mikkeli in one end of the Päämaja School, which is where the headquarters of the Finnish Defence Forces was located during the Winter and Continuation Wars. The office of the commander-in-chief was opened to the public in 1974, a separate Headquarters Museum separated from the school premises, in 1989. Museum was expanded and renovated between 1999 and 2001. The Headquarters Museum, Communications Centre Lokki and Mannerheim’s salon car are run by the town of Mikkeli.
