Wanha Witonen

The Wanha Witonen canoe trail you experience how the atmospheric rivers and crystal-clear lakes transform into turbulent rapids. The Wanha Witonen canoe trail is named after the old note worth five Finnish markkas de¬signed by Eliel Saarinen in 1909. The note’s view of a lake and the rowers on it is a painting of Rasuanniemi, which is located along the trail. The Wanha Witonen canoe trail begins in Petäjävesi, passes by the village of Koskenpää and Jämsä, and ends on Lake Päijänne.

Maauimala and the traffic park nearby are both located and equipped to be an excellent activity park. You can find suitable action for people of all ages there. On a hot summer day you may want to dip into the water, sunbathe or have a picnic on the lawn. You also find there the Bukk Off Ice practise rink, which is meant for skill training in ice hockey, rinkball and floorball. It is the biggest one outdoors in Finland. ou can enjoy its bumps and curves on your bike, kickboard or skateboard.

Juveninkoski (Rapids)

The wild rushing rapids of Juvéninkoski are located in Partala, Jämsä. Juvéninkoski is on the Nytkymenjoki River, it is the most impressive of nine rapids. The gorgeous waterfall is nearly seven metres in height, the best part is its sheer drop, as single-drop waterfalls are a somewhat rare in Finland. This makes Juvéninkoski one of the more famous natural attractions in Jämsä. During the spring flood, its surging whitewater is a magnificent sight. During the summer, the lush vegetation enveloping the rapids make this truly enchanting.
