Uusikaupunki is an idyllic coastal city halfway between Turku and Rauma. Despite its name, Uusikaupunki (Newtown) is over 400 years old, and there is a population of about 15,500 living in this vibrant city with its wooden houses.

The beautiful Kaupunginlahti bayside with its piers, lighting and restaurants calls visitors to the seaside. Get to know the history of the town in the outdoors museum with stories of the town’s seafaring days along the bayside.

This year marks the 300th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Nystad. The Bonk Museum is a fantastic journey into the world of imagination. The museum houses a collection of carefully restored Bonk devices and products from mid-1800s to the 1950s.

The Uusikaupunki Automobile Museum

The Uusikaupunki Automobile Museum has for long been considered the most popular year-round attraction in town. Many believe that, now even more clearly than before, it is the most important car museum in Finland. The museum houses a wide range of classic cars and many other interesting exhibits from various areas of motoring and motor sports. All in all, the museum houses well over a hundred cars, a good collection of old mopeds, a few motorcycles, and two planes.
